My 8th Grade Year

My 8th grade year will be ending in 3 and 1/2 days. I'm excited to go to highschool, but also I don't want to leave. This year has probably been the best out of all the years I have been in school. I am really excited for highschool choir. I don't want to leave Mr. Z. because he has been an awesome teacher to have. I am lucky that I got to spend the two years with him as my choir teacher. Everyday Mr. Z. pushes us to be the best that we can be, and I'm very sad that I have to leave him.

Teacher Appreciation Week

One teacher that I appreciate is Mrs. Pfundt. I was very lucky to get to have her as my math teacher my 7th grade year. I never had an A in math until I had her, now I've had an A ever since. Mrs. Pfundt is an awesome math teacher. I like her because she comes up with weird and fun ways to remember things. Mrs. Pfundt is probably the best math teacher I have ever had. I still remember most of the things that she tought me last year, and I still use them. If I could I would want her to be my math teacher again.

Favorite Subjects

My top two favorite subjects are choir and Social Studies. I like choir because it lets you express your feelings through singing. I like Social Studies because it's basically one long story of the past. Those two reasons aren't the only reasons why I like the two different subjects. I also like the teachers. Mr. Z. is a very good teacher.Every day he is helping all of his students be the best that they can be. I like Mr. Driemeier because he is funny and he also explains history very well.

Photo Prompt

In the photo it looks like the people on the ground are jealous of the boy in the air. I think this because the people on the ground have black wings and the boy in the air has colorful wings. I also think it looks like the boy is embarrassed because he is good and the other and the people aren't .

Earth Day

One thing that I do to help the Earth is recycle. I recycle newspapers and any plastic. I also don't litter, I know that if you litter it is bad for the Earth. One way to help keep the Earth in good shape it to not buy paper plates, forks, spoons, knives, ect. If you use real plates and silverwear it is better for the Earth.

My Favorite Movie

My favorite move is Courageous. I like this movie because it shows that it could be a real life situation. I think this because in the movie is a group of friends that work at a police station are going to start taking control. All of them are having difficult times in their life. One dad steals the drugs that are supposed to go to evidence because he needs a little extra money each month. Also there is a dad and his daughter wants to go out with a guy that isn't the best for her. This movie is very inspiring and I encourage you to watch it!

My Motavations

Something that motivates me is to be told that I did a good job. If I'm working on something and it's hard, and someone tells me to keep going it makes it a lot easier to finish it. Also if I'm having trouble with something it's easier to keep going if someone is supporting me. I have a lot of teachers, and my parents, that are good at supporting me, and I'm lucky to have them.

Easter Break

For my Easter break I have a lot of stuff to do! One thing that I'm doing is going to a bridal shower. The bridal shower is for my cousin Sarah. Also we are having my brother and his family over for Easter. I can't wait because I get to see my nephew. This will be my nephew's first Easter that he gets to hunt eggs by himself, so we are all excited. I am also very excited to get to see all of my family and be able to spend time with them.

Being Healthy

I think one way to be healthy is to eat good. You can do this by eating fruits and vegetables. You can eat other foods too, but it's important to make sure that they are a part of your diet. Another way to be healthy is to exercise. You should do some kind of exercise every day, even if it's just playing outside. Being healthy should be important to everyone.

Where I Want to Travel

If I could travel anywhere I would go to Paris, France. I would travel there because it looks very pretty. Also, I would want to go see the Eiffel Tower. I have wanted to see it for a while now, and I think it would be a fun experience. I know that a few of my aunts have gotten to see it, and they said that it was beautiful. When I get older I will defiantly go see it.

Ergonomics is the study of how the human body uses a work space. When it comes to the computer a bad habit that I have would be not sitting completely back in my chair. I think that our workstations are ergonomically sound. I believe this because we have a good space between the computer and our eyes. While working on the computer you should be sitting all the way back in your chair, having a chair that can be moved higher or lower, making sure that you eyes are level with the top of your computer screen, making sure the home row keys are the same height as your elbow, and use a pad to support your wrist. Those were some reasons about ergonomics.

Google's Blurred Spots

On Google Maps you can look up locations all over the world. You can't see every place though, some places are blurred. The reason for this is mainly for security reasons. On Google Maps the White House, U.S. Capitol, and the Vice President's House are all blurred. The pictures aren't always blurred, but maybe just an older picture of that location. Also some locations in other countries is blurred as well.

Technology

I have Technology this quarter. I also had it last quarter in the same hour, 6th hour. I think Technology is fun, but I don't have my friends in the same class like I did last quarter. The past few days have been pretty easy because it is all review for me. Technology wasn't always my strongest subject, but I think I'm pretty good at this year.

What I Learned in Technology Class

This year in technology class I learned a lot of different things. One thing that I learnded was how to make a movie of some of the things that I like. Also I learned how to make a stop-motion movie. One thing that I like about technology is that we do blogs. I like to do blogs because it gives me a chance to think about some of the things that I never really knew I liked. One thing that I don't like is that I have to be on the computer the whole hour, and sometimes it hurts my eyes. One thing that I know for sure is that I had a great time in Mrs. Debolt's class!

Gum!

One thing that I couldn't live without is gum! I chew at least 5 pieces in a school day, not counting the pieces at house. My favorite kind of gum would have to be 5 gum. I like all the flavors gum, but the mint kind is my favorite. I also like Extra gum! Gum is one very important thing in my life.

The Eiffel Tower

This picture reminds me of the mirrors at a fair. It makes me think me of the ones that makes you look different than what you really look like. They can make you different shapes, or make one part of your body a different size than the other parts. It's more like a hall of mirrors and each one does something different to you.

The Pledge

In school we do the Pledge of Allegiance every day. Some people think that it is just a waste of time. In my opinion I don't think that it is. The reason I think this is because we are pledging to our nation. Yes I agree that day after day of saying the same thing can be a bit annoying, but it is respectiful to do it. When we were younger we had no idea of what it meant, but it's time to start being more mature when it comes to saying the pledge.

Inspiration!

In my opinion I think that this picture is showing a house that has a lot going on in it. I think this because it doesn't have the structure of a house, but it has many parts that look like they would be a part of a house. I also think it kinda looks like a lot of mini house put in together. The last thing that I think it has a lot going on because there are so many different parts.

My Favorite Vaction

One of my favorite places that I went for vacation was to Destin, Florida. On that vacation I did so many different things. One thing that I did was zip lining and I also went parasailing. In Florida I went to many different restaurants. I went to fancy restaurants, restaurants on the beach, and even a restaurant that had alligators.

Physical Education

Yes Physical Education! I think that everyone should have to do P.E. Physical Education gives the kids that do not exercise out of school the time to do it. If all you do at home is sit around and do nothing then you are not getting the exercise that you need. Also if you like being active then you have a better chance of trying out for a sport that you really want to play. If you are not in the best shape, then P.E. can help you with that.

The Zoo

I love going to the zoo. I always have so much fun when I go there. My favorite part of the zoo is when I just get to walk and enjoy the fresh air. My favorite animal at the zoo is probably the cheetahs. I can't wait until this summer when I get to take my nephew with us! The zoo is a big part of my summer.

Current Book

The current book that I'm reading is "Heaven is for Real." This book is about a little boy who goes in a coma and meets Jesus and also gets to see angles. When the little boy told his parents about it they were confused and just didn't know what to think. The boy said that the angles sang to him and he was sitting on Jesus' lap. I like this book because it tells a real life story. If you are looking for a good book to read, this is the one!

My Favorite Book

My favorite book is the Hunger Games Trilogy. I started reading the book in seventh grade and couldn't stop after I started. I like this book so much because it's interesting to read about something that seems so real but isn't. Through seventh grade and the summer I read all three books in a period of about 1-2 weeks per book. I have never read a book that fast in my whole life. One of the main things that I really liked was how well explained it was. It said what, when, and how the characters were doing something.

Technology

This is my second year with Mrs. DeBolt. I have never really been a computer person, but I have learned some interesting things in her class. One thing that i really like that we do is some of the cool projects. Our first project, and our only so far, was to take pictures of objects that look like letters in a word that we got to pick. The word I chose was my name, Julia. I really enjoy Mrs. DeBolt's class and I'm sad that I will have to leave next year.

My Adventure

If I could travel anywhere in the world I would go to France. The reason why I would go to France is because I have wanted to go there my whole life. I think that France would be an amazing experience because I have never been out of the country before. Another reason why I would want to go to France is because I think it would be very pretty, but even more at night!!

Favorite Subject

My favorite subject in school is social studies. Social studies is one of my favorite subjects because I can learn about the past. I think it is very interesting to learn about the different cultures and ways of life back then. I have always liked social studies for as long as I can remember. I think social studies will always be my favorite subject.
